On the 10th of June, the day of the European Parliamentary
elections, Tito's Angels gave away home baked Red Star Cookies to the
passengers at Waterloo station, Eurostar terminal.
Taking the red star as a symbol of communism these warriors
are cheekily asking us to question the meaning of a star and its significance
for the 'New Europe' - are all stars equal, or some are more equal then
others?
Titos Angels is a collaboration between Margareta Kern, Belma Lugic
and Suzana Tamamovic, three artists from the Former Yugoslavia. Now with
a distance of a whole decade in their new surroundings Titos Angels
are bringing their past and present together, merging ideology of their
East European origins with imagery and iconography of the West.
